@Jared @mastodonmigration It’s mostly for image sharing, so not really applicable. And I expect federating with threads will not be encouraged.

@wendinoakland @mastodonmigration if they post a picture in a post it should show up in Pixelfed in the same way it does for a Mastdon account pic will show up in my Pixelfed

Pixelfed (the software) does support federation with Threads. I'm not sure which (if any) Pixelfed isntances are curently federating.
